 Kemlite Opaque Roof Panels are specifically designed to maximize thermal performance in refrigerated or dry van bodies. Almost 100% opaque, Kemlite's opaque roof has the LumaShield finish, which protects it from all the elements.
These unique roofs are produced using high-strength fiberglass and used as an exterior roof on refrigerated trailers and dry freight truck bodies. These panels are made up of highly pigmented thermoset polyester resin, reinforced with chopped fiberglass strands, and contain UV inhibitors.
- A white, glossy finish reflects up to two times the solar radiation and is almost one thousand times less heat conductive than oxidized aluminum
- Refrigerated equipment with an opaque fiberglass roof requires less energy to maintain the inside temperature than a trailer or truck body with an aluminum roof
- Dry van trailers and truck bodies will not get as hot inside as equipment with oxidized aluminum
- Light transmission of an 0.075" panel is under 1%, the 0.06" panel is under 3%
